The Mystery of Café L’Amérique
Omroep GLD, Documentary

In the city of Arnhem exists a unique café: Café L’Amérique, which hasn’t opened its doors since 1996. Only the late owner’s daughter, Trudi, sometimes goes in at night to clean the floors and put out some fresh flowers. What happened, and how did it come to be that this eerie café remained empty for such a long time? A tragic story about the Bonatz family, old memories, and decay.

For this two-part series I was responsible for project management, direction, interviews, camera work, editing, editorial work and post-production.
